Density Q&A in Centum: How It Differs from Volnewmer and Oligio, and How to Read the Tip Names
Density is a device that can deliver monopolar and bipolar RF in sequence from a single tip. Here is a short guide to reading the tip names and what to check at your consultation if a past RF lifting treatment left you unsure.

Since introducing Density at our Busan Centum clinic, we have gathered the questions we hear most often into a Q&A. It is especially for those who had RF lifting before but are not sure what changed, so please read it before your consultation.
At a glance
- Volnewmer and Oligio are monopolar RF devices.
- In addition to monopolar RF, Density's Hi tip can deliver monopolar → bipolar RF in sequence from a single tip.
- Tip names fall into two groups. Classic and Hi describe the delivery method; Eye, Face and Body describe the treatment area.
- Even if a past treatment was disappointing, no one can promise in advance that Density will be better. The first step is to identify what felt lacking.
Q. How is Density different from Volnewmer and Oligio?
The difference lies in the path the current takes. With monopolar RF, current flows from the electrode in the treatment tip to a pad attached to the body; with bipolar RF, it flows between two closely spaced electrodes inside the tip. Because the paths differ, the way heat spreads through the skin also differs.
Volnewmer and Oligio use the monopolar method. Density can also use monopolar RF, and with the Hi tip it delivers bipolar RF right after monopolar. What I find notable about Density is that it can use these two methods in sequence from a single tip.
Q. What is the difference between the Classic tip and the Hi tip?
- Classic tip: Delivers monopolar RF only. The basic principle is the same as Volnewmer and Oligio. However, the same principle does not mean the same settings or results.
- Hi tip: Delivers bipolar RF following monopolar RF. Because of the name, it is easy to mistake it for "a stronger tip," but the key is not intensity — it is the second, bipolar stage.
At your consultation, simply ask, "Does the tip you are using for me include both stages?" and you can confirm the difference right away.
Q. What are the Eye, Face and Body tips?
These names divide the tips by size according to the treatment area. According to the manufacturer, the eye tip has a contact area of 0.5×0.5cm, the face tip 2×2cm, and the body tip is larger still. The narrow, curved eye area and the broader cheek are designed differently, starting with how much skin is contacted at once.
So a name like "Hi Face tip" can be read in two parts: "Hi" is the delivery method, and "Face" means it is for the face.
Q. If past RF lifting was disappointing, will Density be different?
Honestly, it is hard to say in advance. There is a human study that looked at changes in lower-face firmness with Density's combined RF method. However, it did not directly compare whether people who were unsatisfied with previous RF treatments were more satisfied after switching to Density.
The same "I'm not sure" can mean different things. Some people found their cheeks firmer but the jawline that bothered them stayed the same; others did not feel any change in cheek firmness at all. Which case applies changes how I would explain whether Density fits that concern.
Just tell us this at your consultation
You do not need to remember the device name or the number of shots. These three things are enough:
- Which area was treated before
- What you hoped would change at the time (e.g., jawline in profile, cheek firmness)
- The spot that bothers you most when you look in the mirror now (please point to it with your finger)
Once I hear these three things, I can look at the same spot with you and explain which tip I would use and how, and the range of change you can expect from Density.
